I wanted to try to create an art piece that had a movement to it. I am also on a journey to nail down the true style that is screaming to come out. I have been painting most of my adult life. Actually, all types of mediums. From colored pencils to ceramic. From designing cross stitch samplers to painting oversized canvas pieces and furniture.
As I think back on it, it really did depend on where I was in my life and how I could accommodate the tools I used. When I lived with my parents as a teenager, colored pencils and a pad of paper was all I really had room for in my 10×12 foot bedroom. At the time I did not even want to explore other mediums. I was very content using quilting rulers to create abstract art. I really need to find those pieces. Note to self.
Well back to the piece Nascent. I began creating this in August of 2024 and it was hung in December 2024. I used acrylic, gauche, and watercolor on thick acid free paper. My favorite color is pink and I knew it would turn up somewhere is this piece, so I used as a boarder. Nascent measures framed 25.5 inches by 37.75 inches. It is ready for hanging and can be displayed both horizontally or vertically. Price upon request.
I am always trying to develop my art style and letting the work take me places. I was not sure where this piece was taking me.
